American high-alpha hop, a classic among the modern hop strains. All-round hop with intense fruityness and hints of pine. Commonly used in modern ales and lagers where fruityness is desired in the hop character.Simcoe was launched in the year 2000 by Yakima Chief Ranchers but was almost abandoned in 2007 when the interest for citrus hops was in decline. It has since then regained much of it's popularity and today it is used by many American craft brewers.Arom: Blood orange, passion fruit and pine.
